Pezula Resort Hotel & Spa offers the ultimate honeymoon destination for couples looking for romance, privacy and luxury.  Located on the Eastern Head of Knysna on the spectacularly beautiful Garden Route, just an hour’s flight from Cape Town, the hotel has sweeping views of the Indian Ocean, the Knysna Lagoon and the Pezula Championship Course, and is surrounded by ancient forests, rugged cliffs and sheltered beaches. 

Accommodation

78 sumptuous suites are designed to be utterly indulgent and completely private. Decorated in contemporary African style, the interiors exude a sense of luxury and comfort from the real log fireplaces, which are lit on request, to the underfloor heating in the bathrooms. 

Suites have private balconies or patios, individual climate control, satellite television, a DVD player, electronic safe and direct telephone. Each has a pantry kitchen with delicious deli snacks and a well stocked drinks cabinet.

Bathrooms are huge with oval-shaped calabash baths and wet rooms big enough for two. Beds are beautifully dressed with Egyptian cotton linen and guests are supplied with luxurious toweling gowns and slippers.

On the night of their arrival, couples receive a bottle of sparkling wine and oysters which can be delivered to the suite to be enjoyed in front of the fireplace, or served on the Terrace. The next night a bottle of red wine and chocolate truffles will be delivered to the suite at turndown.

Restaurant

The hotel’s gourmet restaurant, Zachary’s is a warm, elegant space that reflects the five star luxury of the hotel, but is at the same time cosy, inviting and comfortable. Honeymoon couples also have the option of using Zachary’s private diningroom for a private gourmet dinner for two, or, weather permitting, dining al fresco on Zachary’s Terrace with its magnificent views over the Knysna Lagoon against the backdrop of the Outeniqua Mountains.  The exquisitely decorated Champagne & Whisky Bar and Cigar Lounge offer superb settings for pre-dinner drinks or a night cap.

Pezula Spa

A honeymoon should be an opportunity to escape from the stress and worries of everyday life, to relax and be pampered. Pezula Spa offers a comprehensive range of treatments which combine natural therapies with the most technologically advanced equipment available. A number of packages have been designed to revive body and spirit, including a Togetherness Package, ideal for honeymooners. The three-hour treatment starts with a couple’s Mhute Steam Treatment in the Signature Steam Room – a cleansing ritual that includes a mineral salt Body Scrub and therapeutic Daka Mud Body wrap. This is followed by a duo massage and an energizing express vine facial.  The package includes a smoothie served in the Jacuzzi!

Couples staying in the hotel are encouraged to make use of the state-of-the-art facilities at the Spa which include a fully equipped gymnasium, sunbed, outdoor Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, rain shower, 12m heated indoor pool, nail bar and hair salon. The post-treatment room is a highlight, with its heated vibrating water beds designed to massage the entire body into a final stage of complete relaxation.

Activities

Couples looking to spend time outdoors will appreciate the superb range of activities available at Pezula. The Field of Dreams has facilities for tennis, cricket, golf, archery and pétanque. 

Leisure opportunities include golf on the Championship Course, horse riding and hiking through the indigenous forests and canoeing on the pristine Noetzie River. The secluded Noetzie beach offers newlyweds the opportunity to picnic in privacy.
